WANDERERS have snapped up Blackpool striker Nathan Delfouneso on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old, who made nearly 300 appearances for the Seasiders, becomes the 13th new signing of the summer for head coach Ian Evatt.

Delfouneso has scored goals in all four divisions and is looking forward to starting a fresh chapter alongside fellow new boy Eoin Doyle in a potent Wanderers attack.

“I’m delighted to sign for a club of this magnitude and size, with the history it has got,” he said.

“It is great to be here and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“The things that have been said to me by the staff here and the faith they have put in me was a big factor in me coming here.”

“Hearing the ambition the club has and what they want to achieve going forward is exciting.

“It’s almost like a reset button has been pressed and I can only see the club going in one direction.”

Evatt – who has also signed experienced keeper/coach Matt Gilks and ex-Coventry City full-back Jak Hickman today – has been looking to bolster his front line and believes he may have found an exciting mix between Delfouneso and Doyle.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Nathan to the football club,” he said.

“Nathan has a great pedigree and it a top, top player at this level.

“He brings pace and quality to the side and we are excited to see what he and Eoin (Doyle) can do as a forward partnership.”
