ETCHILHAMPTON'S Tommy Bridewell endured a disappointing weekend as round five of the British Superbikes Championship took place at a very wet Donington Park on Sunday, writes TIM CRISP.

With three races crammed in on the Sunday around the 2.48 mile Grand Prix circuit due to the heavy rain., there was no time for Bridewell to recover in between heats.

The Oxford Products Racing Ducati had a best-place finish in race two of fifth position while race one saw the Etchilhampton man cross the line in a lowly 15th place.

The weekend's racing would end in disappointing fashion for Bridewell as his final race saw a mechanical failure spell an early finish on lap eight.

However, in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship there were strong point-scoring rides for both Danny Kent and his Morello Racing team mate Fraser Rogers, who now sit in sixth and seventh, respectively.

In the British GP2 cup events, Swindon's Charlie Nesbitt had a DNF in race one on board his ABM Quattro, but followed this up in race two with a class win and a 6th place finish overall.
