SWINDON Robins co-promoter Lee Kilby has joined team members by moving to a new club for 2021 – but it’s very much a loan arrangement!

Following the news of the Robins sitting out the Premiership campaign due to planned stadium work and ongoing concerns over the pandemic, Kilby has linked up with Championship side Eastbourne.

Kilby insists he will be continuing to work alongside fellow Robins bosses to build up to the club’s return next year at the same time as taking up a commercial role which could expand.

Kilby said: “I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work for a club so rich in history and with such a forward-thinking promotion as the Eastbourne Eagles.

“Initially the move is for 2021 and I’ll be directly looking after all the commercial aspects at the club, but we are hoping we can add to my responsibilities in the coming weeks.

“The role with the Eagles was just too good an opportunity to miss and I am grateful to club director Ian Jordan and promoter Trevor Geer for their interest and desire in bringing me to the club.

“Having chatted with them both at great length there is a great synergy in our aims and aspirations at both club level and for the sport as a whole.”

“It will seem odd being involved in speedway this year with no Robins team to promote on track, but that said, I don’t feel I need to tell anyone where my heart lies!

“I will still be fully focused throughout this year working alongside with Terry Russell, Steve Park and Alun Rossiter on developments at the club, ensuring we are in a great place when we return to track in 2022 with Alun and myself once again co-promoting our great club. Swindon fans will be more than welcome to pop down to Eastbourne, it would be good to see them.”
