TRUST STFC board member Alex Pollock reviews a hectic past fortnight at the County Ground involving stand renaming, the scenes at Stevenage, and the introduction of the Fan Advisory Board.

Two weeks is a long time in the world of STFC, and it’s great to have seen the team picking up points home and away, as well as a stellar performance against Arsenal U21s this week.

At the Mansfield game, we also enjoyed the renaming of one of our stands for an absolute club legend. The Arkell’s Stand will now be known as ‘The Arkell’s John Trollope Stand’ from this point on, celebrating the great achievements of this one-club man. It’s gestures like these that really show how far the club has come in a matter of weeks.

There were impressive figures on the road again last weekend to support the team against Stevenage, with the lads battling out a well-fought point.

The majority of fans continued to be great ambassadors for our club when travelling away, but the joy of a last-minute equaliser was very much marred by the events off the pitch from a minority of fans.

The Trust, along with the club and Official Supporters Club, does not condone such behaviour, and we are disappointed that the reputation of our fanbase has been tarnished by the mindless acts that unfolded. There will be ramifications for the club due to such actions, and we’ll continue to engage in dialogue with the club on ways in which we may be able to support.

On a more positive development, Steve Mytton (TrustSTFC chair) was our representative at this week’s inaugural ‘Fan Advisory Board’ (FAB) meeting alongside members from the club’s senior management, the Official Supporters Club, and the legendary Don Rogers.

The FAB has been set up as part of Clem’s ongoing commitment to fan engagement and transparency, to share ideas on growing the club and how best to improve relations with the supporters and community.

More information and outputs of the Fan Advisory Board will be shared with supporters and Trust members in the coming weeks and months.

If any fans or Trust members have feedback regarding events of the last couple of weeks or ideas that you’d like to see brought to life, please get in touch with us directly via our website or by contacting any of your Trust board members.
