ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players during the club’s 1-1 draw with Harrogate Town at the County Ground in League Two.

Jojo Wollacott: 6

While he did make a few good saves, his kicking was pretty poor. Whether it was the wind or just an off day, it’s difficult to tell.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden: 6

He was clearly at fault for the first goal, but was otherwise a nuisance to Harrogate. He was literally kicked off the pitch, and should have won a penalty in the eyes of his head coach. Subbed.

Rob Hunt: 5

Call it Harrogate’s game plan or Swindon’s deficiencies, Hunt epitomised the hosts’ nervousness in the first half with negative passing and a lack of clear direction. He did provide a vital goal-line clearance in the first-half, however. Subbed.

Dion Conroy: 5

In Conroy’s 100th Swindon appearance, the club captain would have liked to have played better. Like Hunt, he seemed lost and was ineffective in possession. Provided a vital block in the second half.

Akin Odimayo: 4

Odimayo did not look comfortable with the ball at his feet at all. His display was very similar to Hunt’s only without the goal-line clearance.

Ellis Iandolo: 4

Poor touches, passing, positioning blighted Iandolo’s game. He improved in the second and could have won a late penalty, but was instead booked for diving. Booked.

Louis Reed: 5

Reed’s passing was uncharacteristically poor, and he had no real effect on the game as a result. This was an anomaly for Reed, who I can’t remember awarding less than a 6 to all season.

Jack Payne: 7

It’s almost a given, but Payne’s energy was admirable in a game that Swindon took too long to get going in. His attitude is all a supporter asks for. He gives his all for 90 minutes. And he came up clutch with yet another brilliantly-taken penalty when it mattered.

Ben Gladwin: 3

Gladwin was supposed to give Town control in the middle, according to his manager, but ironically it was his control that continued to let him down. He made too many mistakes on the ball and was too slow when he did receive it. Subbed.

Jonny Williams: 7

The Welshman created a couple of half-chances while up front, but was far more effective when deployed slightly deeper. In the number 10 role, he was a big part of the reason why momentum swung back towards the home team.

Tyreece Simpson: 5

While he was given little to no service, there were a few times where I felt he could have worked a bit harder to make a run or create some space. Remains guilty of dropping back into a crowded box instead of hitting the front post to mix it up.

SUBSTITUTES

Harry McKirdy: 7

The impact he had when he came on was evident. McKirdy was lively and really made a difference to Swindon’s attacking input.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson: N/A

Came on too late to receive a rating but won the penalty which helped Swindon salvage a point.

Romoney Crichlow: N/A

Came on too late to receive a rating.
