AS we approach the end of an extraordinary season for Swindon Town, the first under owner Clem Morfuni, it’s time for you to vote for your Swindon Advertiser Swindon Town player of the year.

You can only vote once per person, and the poll ends on Sunday, April 24 at 11pm.

The winner will be presented with their award at the Official Supporters Club's end of season presentation on Wednesday, May 4.

Listed below are the five nominees and a short summary of their incredible campaigns.

Harry McKirdy

Town’s top scorer has netted 18 times in all competitions this season, including four against Northampton Town and a goal which will live long in the memory of every fan against Manchester City in the FA Cup. Adding his nine assists into the equation means McKirdy has been involved in a third of the club’s goal in all competitions. Not only have his goals been important, but the 25-year-old’s general work-rate and infectious attitude on the pitch means Swindon remain in with a chance of the play-offs at the end of a season in which McKirdy arrived as a trialist with just a handful of professionals around him.

Jojo Wollacott

Swindon’s goalkeeper has enjoyed an outstanding campaign, especially during the first few months of the season. Having conceded a respectable 45 goals in 38 games, Wollacott has regularly offered his attacking teammates the opportunity to go and win games with excellent saves and an assured presence between the sticks. His 11 clean sheets have also come during a campaign in which he has been called up for his country, Ghana, and helped the Black Stars qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. Town will be keen to tie him down to a new contract with his deal running out in the summer.

Jonny Williams

Labelled as Town’s marquee signing last summer, Williams has always struck fear into the hearts of opposition teams with his reputation alone. His unpredictability is what makes him so watchable, and the five goals with seven assists prove he has contributed in a tangible way. A late equaliser against Rochdale at home and a stunning strike in the 2-1 victory away at Sutton United are memorable early-season highlights, while the assist for McKirdy’s City goal showed his undeniable talent on the biggest stage.

Ellis Iandolo

Town’s longest-serving player will end this season as the club’s top appearance maker too. The 24-year-old has only missed three of the club’s 50 games so far this season after failing to pass 15 outings in one season before now. As someone who has been injured all too often before now, supporters are delighted to see Iandolo become a cornerstone of Town’s latest campaign. A member of ‘the Melksham seven’, Iandolo has been incredibly consistent in a number of positions from left-back to centre-back to left-midfield to centre-midfield. A first goal since 2018 added to six assists in a brilliant season for ‘one of our own.’

Louis Reed

Reed’s three goals and three assists in 39 appearances this season does not begin to tell half the story in terms of his importance to Ben Garner’s team. In the 7 League Two games Reed has been available for since he arrived, Town have not won any of them. Reed’s key attributes are everything you’d want it in a central midfielder – he’s aggressive, he has good energy, the range and quality of his passing is unparalleled, and his overall consistency is as good as anyone in the squad. Reed has been incredible this season and is a deserved final-five candidate.
