SWINDON Town Supporters Trust board member Alex Pollock provides an update on the club’s huge reduction in debt this season, a re-design of the TrustSTFC website, and the latest regarding the County Ground acquisition.

It was a weekend of mixed fortune for the team, and there are many-a Town fan already resigning themselves to another season of League Two. But we’re remaining optimistic, and with there being 12 points still to play for and us sitting four points from the play-offs, let’s keep the faith!

Earlier this week, we saw the publication of the latest Advisory Board minutes from April’s meeting, and it’s great to see the continued progress off the field, most notably, the ongoing reduction of external debt.

Once the new ownership reviewed the state of affairs upon taking over the cub, the debt stood at around £4.5 million. Eight months on, and through professional and effective business management, that figure has been reduced to around £1.8 million.

There are a number of additional updates to ongoing work-streams from the club, Official Supporters Club, and TrustSTFC which are well documented for fans and the wider community to consume.

If you’re yet to view the minutes from April’s Fan Advisory board meeting, they can be found on the club’s official website. And if any Trust member has something for us to raise at May’s meeting, please do get in touch with us.

Your Trust is already planning for next season, and at our recent board meeting, we assigned roles and responsibilities to new and existing board members.

Work has already begun on looking at improving the member engagement we activate. We have begun to engage with local agency partners to redesign and redevelop the Trust website.

And our lawyer also continues to support on the plans for acquiring The County Ground now that Swindon Borough Council has agreed to the sale, and we hope to have some further information on this project in the coming weeks.

Safe travels to all Town fans making the trip to Hartlepool United this weekend, and we look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday night! COYR!
