SWINDON Supermarine finished off their Southern League Premier South campaign with a 2-0 victory over Tiverton Town at the Webbswood Stadium last weekend.

Bristol Rovers loanee Kieran Phillips struck for the 16th time since arriving in Wiltshire before Ryan Campbell added a second to cap off a fine day for Lee Spalding's men.

In a goalless first half, Tiverton's Lewis Williams was the first to be called into action when denying Phillips. Marine stopper Martin Horsell later prevented Andy Watkins from netting from close range by tipping an effort around the post.

Horsell then had to be at his athletic best later on in the first 45 in order to tip Joe Belsten's long-range effort wide.

The goalkeeper's heroics later paid dividends for the home side as Marine took the lead in the 50th minute.

Henry Spalding's near-post cross was latched onto by Phillips and, after a heavy touch, he volleyed powerfully into the roof of the net from close range.

Spalding's low shot was kicked away by Williams as Marine's confidence grew while Phillips blew a one-on-one chance over due to a poorly-timed bobble.

The hosts were almost made to pay when Gary Warren headed against the bar around the hour mark.

But Lee Spalding's men secured a vital second goal in the 66th minute when Spalding threaded a pass through to Campbell and he finished with aplomb, rolling the ball across Williams with his left to seal the result and Marine's 12th-place finish.

Elsewhere, Highworth Town let a three-goal lead slip to draw 3-3 at home to Willand Rovers on Saturday.

Mani Roper opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a left-footed strike into the top corner.

Callum Parsons doubled the Worthians' advantage in the 33rd minute before the hosts were awarded a penalty six minutes later. Ash Edenborough sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to put Ross Adams' men 3-0 up at the break.

Willand pulled one back seven minutes after the restart, but the visitors didn't score again until the 68th minute. Edenborough was denied a second of the game courtesy of a good save with 15 minutes to go, only to see a wonderful solo goal square the game up shortly after.

Highworth survived the final moments without conceding again to finish 10th in Southern League Division One South.
