Reports say that Swindon Town has made their first addition to the squad for the upcoming season.

Football Insider is claiming that The Robins have secured a deal with the Championship side to loan 21-year-old shot-stopper Sol Brynn, but did not reveal the details of the loan, or how long it was for.

The football rumour website claims that Boro manager Chris Wilder gave the go-ahead for the move because Brynn didn't feature in his plans for next season.

Swindon allegedly beat out interest from a number of other football league teams to secure the signature of the young keeper.

Brynn had a loan spell at Scottish outfit Queen of the South last season, making 21 appearances in all competitions while there.

Teeside Live reported that he was recalled to challenge for a starting spot, but he didn't make any further appearances and is now still waiting for his senior debut since joining Middlesborough in 2009.

Swindon relied on two goalkeepers last season with Jojo Wollacott and Lewis Ward both making a number of first-team appearances, the latter usually starting when the former was on international duty with Ghana.
