IF THE first weekend is anything to go by, there could be some thrilling action in the North Wilts Youth League this season.

Under 13 Division One produced one of several standout matches as hosts Greendown A stormed into a 5-0 half time lead, only for visiting Swindon Robins to get themselves back in the game at 5-4 courtesy of a second half onslaught.

But Greenmeadow steadied the ship and hit a sixth to eventually win 6-4.

Leon Mason (4), Robbie Maggs and Brady Lambert were on target for the hosts.

Under 17/18 Division One

Castle Combe lost 7-3 to Liden Community after goals from Ben Smith (5), Christian Ackah and Nathan Fowler.

Under 17/18 Division Two

Wootton Bassett Town won 5-2 away to Marlborough Town. Adam Topping (2), Dominic Gordon (2) and Josh Smith sealed the win.

Under 16 Division One

AFC Barbury were 4-2 winners over Old Town Utd. Joe Gentleman and Jimmy Horwood scored for Old Town.

Under 16 Division Two Croft Juniors thrashed Blunsdon Colts 6-1 with goals from David Miller (3), Josh Morse (2) and Conor Trinci.

Under 15 Division Two

Fairford Town Youth beat Coleshill 3-1, with goals from Kyle Webb (2) and Danny Western.

Under 15 Division Three

Wanborough won 2-1 against Hungerford Town with goals from Matthew Cousins and Jack Pethick.

Under 14 Division Two

Bassett Rangers edged a nervy game 4-2 at home to Avonvale. Goalscorers for Rangers were Callum Meehan (3) and Sam Martin.

Under 14 Division Four

Kingshill overcame Penhill Knights 3-0, with goals from Scott Reynolds, Dawa Lama and George Firth.

Goals from Will Hooton, Bradley Mitchell and Ben Peapell helped Wanborough beat Croft Juniors B 3-1.

Under 13 Division Two

Croft Juniors were 4-2 winners against Greenmeadow B.

James Sims, Brad Pearce, Ollie Wise and Joe Staddon all scored for Croft.

Swindon Rangers won 4-0 at Highworth Town Juniors thanks to two goals apiece from Ollie Hunt and Jack Steed.

FC Abbeymeads lost 4-2 to Malmesbury Youth. Cameron Roberts and Josh Feltham both scored for Abbeymeads, but Jamie Wreathall (2), James Hurcomb and Taylor Clarke sealed the win.

Calne came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Barbury. Robin Batson claimed the equalising goal.

Under 13 Division Three

Old Town United ran out 5-2 winners against Wanborough, with goals from Jacob Green (2), Thomas Whitham, Scott Brown and Joseph Ouldridge.

Liam Connelly-Maull grabbed both goals for Wanborough.

Shaw went down 1-0 to Ferndale Rodbourne.

Under 12 Division One

Lydiard Youth romped to a 12-0 victory over Wanborough. Kieran Andrews grabbed five, supported by Alex Dinsmore (3), Will Thorne (2), Jake Muncaster and Joe Miller.

Abbeymeads took the points against Shaw. Jake O’Neill opened the scoring for Abbeymeads before Shaw drew level, but a late goal from Jack Uzzell sealed the 2-1 win.

Lydiard Youth B drew 3-3 at Highworth Town Juniors H. Liam Munday (2) and Connor Wykeham Martin scored for Lydiard, while Samuel Downs (2) and Daniel Wheeler netted for Highworth.

Under 12 Division two

Highworth Town Juniors T won 4-3 against Penhill Allstars.

Highworth’s scorers were Sam Cheesley, Jordan Cairns and Reece Snowden, before Sam Lawson clinched a 4-3 win.

Under 12 Division three

Greenmeadow D and South Swindon drew 3-3.

Greenmeadow’s scorers were Joel Lines, Alex Holman and Daryl Mapstone.

On target for South Swindon were Jack Ahrens, Jordan Remner and Liam Compton.

Blunsdon Colts beat Brinkworth Cats B 2-1.

Billy Gibbs’ scored for Blunsdon, but Jack Fletcher and Callum Reid-Hutchings grabbed the points for Cats.

Under 11 Division One

Blunsdon Colts lost 9-0 away to Calne thanks to Aaron Holbrook (2), Ashley Daniels (2), Damon Hayes (2), Harry Davies, Jake Lang and Morgan Summerfield.

Under 11 Division two

Two second-half goals from Ben Kempster saw Ramsbury beat Croft Juniors 2-0.

Marlborough Town went down 5-1 against Ferndale Rodbourne B after a hat-trick from Joshua Iles and goals from Ryan Woodward and Vincent Kelly.

Under 11 Division three

Chiseldon lost 5-2 to Shrivenham & Watchfield.

Hayden Garraway and Jack Karpinski scored for Chiseldon and Nick Moore (2), Morgan Buckle (2), and Bradley Marsh scored for Shrivenham.

Goals from Anthony Camillo Vaz (2), Kaylumn Arnold and Aiden Bennett sealed a comfortable 4-1 win for Liden Community against Hungerford Town Juniors B.

Under 11 Division four

Swindon Robins captain Alex Gregory scored both goals in a 2-2 draw against Cirencester Town G.

Under 10 Division two

Wroughton Youth A beat Croft Juniors A 6-2 with goals from Mason Burke (2), Brandon Duddy, Craig Sully, Brad Sealy and an own goal.

Wootton Bassett Town A overcame Highworth Town Juniors H 4-2. Bassett’s goalscorers were Euan Burke (3) and Zach Bunce.

Under 10 Division three

Goals from Callum Ratcliffe (3) and Harry Kearns helped Ferndale Rodbourne beat Highworth Town Juniors J 4-1.

Goals from Oliver Mathews, Lee Murphy and Jordan Hyde helped Greenmeadow overcome Ramsbury 5-1.

Purton Youth B beat Wanborough 3-2. Toby Berwick (2) and Joe Maskelyne scored the Wanborough goals.

Under 10 Division four

Wroughton Youth B beat Chiseldon 9-3, with goals from Sean Blunsdon (3), Tyler Follit (3), Nial Doyle, Henry Hill and Joseph Griffiths. Chiseldon’s scorers were Matthew Talbot (2) and Gavin Riccalton.

A Guy Drayton hat-trick helped Highworth Town Juniors T to a 7-0 win over Stratton Juniors. Patrick Doyle (2), Jack Birch, and Glen Chalmers also scored.

Under 9 Division One

Swindon Rangers A beat Greenmeadow 12-0, with goals from Joe Tyson (5), Charlie Lawrence (2), Jack Leach (2) and Dan Reynolds (2).

Highworth Town Juniors H lost 3-2 to Stratton Juniors A despite goals from Sam Dibble and Jody Swift.

Ferndale Rodbourne went down 2-0 to Croft Juniors.

Under 9 Division two

FC Abbeymeads and Shaw drew 4-4, with FC Abbeymeads’ goals coming from Nathan Prothero (3) and Lewis Baston.

Calne were beaten 6-1 by Cirencester Town with Zac Soonsup scoring a late consolation.

Under 9 Division three

Swindon Rangers B thrashed Ashton Keynes 6-2 with goals from Ethan Hughes (3), Daniel Jones (2) and Jon Mallinson.

Highworth Town Juniors T won 5-2 against Liden Community A with goals from Eloise Hayward (2), Leon Summers (2) and Max Morland.

Under 9 Division four

Purton Youth B beat Eldene Rangers 5-4 with goals from Jay Crabbe (3), Sam Sullivan and Ethan Steel.
