CHIPPENHAM maintained their pursuit of Clifton Robinsons B in the GoCrea8 League Central One division as they clinched a 3-1 win at Old Bristolians.

The visitors were caught napping in the opening 15 minutes as the home side opened the scoring before Tim Elliot equalised.

The away side controlled the game in the second half and Mark Knight gave them the lead after a well-worked team move.

Knight added a second to wrap up the points for Chippenham, who remain four points behind Clifton with six games to go.

Elsewhere in the division, Devizes A lowered the colours of City Of Bath C 4-2.

Nick Sherman’s first of the season brought the opener and Callum Lavens doubled the advantage before Bath scored twice to restore parity. Max Johnson and Mike Greenman scored in the second half to seal Devizes’ win.

Chippenham A stayed second in Central Two after thrashing Bristol Uni C 10-1.

Bristol took the lead but after that it was one-way traffic as Dave Thomas, Nigel Stonham, Jack Stanley and Archie Wright all netted before half-time.

Stonham and Thomas added to their tallies after the break, Marcus Vevey with a double and striker Will Pritchett and Craig Kilminster finding the net.

Chippenham B dispatched Yate A 6-0 in East Central One. Stuart Hill’s diving finish giving them the lead and further goals going in before half-time through Simon Gubbin and Dave Mantle.

Gubbin complete his hat-trick with two more after the break and Alex Harrison also scored.

The C team suffered a 4-0 defeat against local rivals Corsham, while the D side were beaten 4-1 by Royal Wootton Bassett B, Sean Lane their sole scorer.
