Egyptian Canal Zone reunion May 2010

Friday, May 7 to Friday, May 14 2010

SINCE my retirement I have organized reunion visits to the Canal Zone area in Egypt.

I was called up for National Service in 1954 and was posted to Egypt working in GHQ Fayid Canal Zone then moved on to Cyprus.

As a hobby I organize return visits to the Fayid/Ismailia area every year. In May 2010 we will be travelling to the Canal Zone (an overflow group - Sept 2009 was full) taking in Cairo-Moascar-Ismailia-Tel-El-Kebir staying at a hotel on the Great Bitter Lakes Fayid and visiting the area of Lake Timsa.

These visits are limited to 40 places (13 doubles and 14 singles) we cannot cater for children but spouses and relatives are welcome.

The average age is 40 to 80+. During the seven night stay there is a chance to visit the Pyramids-Sphynx-Egyptian Museum to see the treasures of the boy king Tutankhamun.

We arranged our last group for Sept 2009 and had to turn people away due to the group quickly filling up so it was decided to arrange this final additional overflow group for May 2010.

I know that there were many people in your circulation area that was posted to Egypt during the troubles of the 1950s and I would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to publish this offer of a reunion return to the Canal Zone Egypt. Also if any of your readers would like a photograph of a loved one’s grave from any of the cemeteries we visit could they please send me details.
