Compton Hall Amateur Dramatic Society Presents Improbable Fiction by Alan Ayckbourn, at Compton Bassett Village Hall, on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, with doors at 7pm, curtain up 7.30pm, with a licensed bar. There is some adult language. Tickets are £7, which can be purchased from the Box Office, 01249 813554.
Improbable Fiction, premiered in 2005, is one of Ayckbourn's lighter comedies, although it does ocntain some adult language.
The play opens with a meeting of the Pendon Writers' Circle at the home of their chairman, Arnold Hassock. Everything appears normal, with the usual tensions within the group one expects from Ayckbourn, lulling the audience into a false sense of security. Then, quite unexpectedly, events become anything but normal.
