POLICE have warned motorists of the dangers of high sun glare following a three-vehicle crash on Thamesdown Drive yesterday morning.
They were called to the incident shortly after 6.30am when a red Renault Clio collided with a blue Citreon Van, outside the Orbital Shopping Centre close to the Redhouse junction.
A short time later, a beige Renault Megane also hit the vehicles. There were no serious injuries in the crash but the driver of the van was treated at the scene by paramedics for head injuries. He was deemed not to need hospital treatment.
The exact cause of the crash is not known but it is believed to be because of the glare caused by the sun shining off the wet road.
Despite the severity of the crash, all the vehicles involved were moved to the side of the road so hold-ups were minimal and police left the scene just over two hours after they were called.
They are asking if anyone with information into the crash can call them on 101.
