CROOK OF THE DAY: Do you know van theft suspects?

This Is Wiltshire: Van theft pair sought by police Van theft pair sought by police

A MAN and a woman sneaked on to an industrial estate after cutting through a wire fence and stole a large white van.

The pair are the latest to be caught on CCTV by Wiltshire Police, who are sharing the images with the Adver in a bid to collar criminals for unsolved crimes.

During the burglary at South Marston Industiral Estate, they cut through a mesh fence and stole a Mercedes Sprinter van, which police believe was likely to have been taken away on low loader or similar, overnight between 5pm on Saturday, February 8 and 8am on Monday, February 10.

The people police want to speak to in connection with the incident are described as a white man, of stocky build with a shaved head, wearing a black jacket with white trim and dark jeans, and a woman with shoulder-length dark hair, wearing a camel-coloured jacket with a furry hood and black trousers.

Police are appealing for the two people pictured to come forward and eliminate themselves from the inquiry.

Contact the Swindon Crime Management Unit on 101 quoting crime reference number 54140013424.

Fat chance of that. I expect they are far too busy, using the van to transport fairground equipment around the country.

ah, we can comment on these now!

Let's see, if I take my glasses off, turn out all the lights - hey, now I recognize them!!!!! (not for this picture bty, this is one of the better ones)

I can obtain better stills from video taken on my 10 year old camera phone than most of these.

The co-op ones the other day were really good quality.

Tesco's camera was the worst despite them making £3.4 billion group trading profit (source:- http://www.tescoplc.

You can get better quality pictures for a couple of hundred pounds from the CCTV cameras on sale in Maplin!

Their Swindon store is an embarrassment. - run down, falling apart, broken fittings and fixtures not repaired for months ie - that broken freezer door and the toilets are disgusting! Seals on other freezers broken, bits of shelves falling off etc.. etc..

I think the adver should do some kind of follow up on these, see which crims have been successfully identified.

Never mind this picture, there is another 'Crook of the day' picture still in place on the Swindon Advertiser site despite them being contacted and it still shows an innocent man and the Advertiser are well aware of it.
Swindon Advertiser had best be somewhat careful who they label a crook in public as not one of these people have been found guilty of any offence.
