POLICE have arrested a local man over the spate of racist graffiti in Penhill.
Following yesterday's appeal for information about swastika graffiti that appeared in Penhill overnight on Monday into Tuesday, a 28-year-old man from Swindon was arrested this morning on suspicion of criminal damage.
The man was arrested in connection with a total of 12 incidents in north and west Swindon, including a number that were reported earlier in the year, and currently remains in custody at Swindon Gablecross police station.
At this stage there is still no evidence to link these incidents to those reported in Walcott over the weekend.
A police spokesman said: "We would like to thank the media for their help with this appeal."
