A PROLIFIC shoplifter who was warned to expect jail if she breached her suspended prison sentence has been given another suspended sentence.

Heroin addict Angela Money was given the 12-week term, suspended for 12 months on January 29 for stealing more than £500-worth of goods – mainly fragrances - from shops in Swindon.

As a result she was banned from all Superdrug and Wilko stores in the town.

But the following day she stole perfumes valued at £383 from The Fragrance Shop, then on January 31 she returned to the same shop twice and stole another £706 of goods.

Her final visit was on February 1 when she took yet more perfume with a value of £330.

Money, aged 30, of Rodbourne Road, appeared before Swindon magistrates on February 3 where she admitted all the thefts and a charge of committing a further offence while under the suspended sentence.

The bench decided to impose a new sentence totalling 16 weeks, suspended for two years and ordered her to pay £1,419 compensation . They also extended the suspension period of her existing sentence to two years.

At the earlier hearing chairman Jonathan Chappell warned her: “If you breach the requirements or you are convicted of another offence you should expect to serve a jail sentence. No sad stories.”
