MUSIC lovers are finally being offered a chance to hear one of the great pianists of his generation.

Following Covid-19 pandemic lockdown cancellations and a backlog of bookings, Edington Arts is delighted to welcome the extraordinarily talented and charismatic pianist Martin James Bartlett to its concert programme.

Mr Bartlett will be performing at the Edington Priory Church on Saturday, June 24 at 7.30pm.

Having won the BBC Young Musicians competition in 2014 at the tender age of 18, he has gone on to fulfil the promise of a glittering career, performing all over Europe and making several recordings which have received brilliant reviews.

An Edington Arts spokesperson said: “He combines flawless technique, adventurous and wide-ranging musical tastes, and huge emotional depth to produce performances which are remarkable on many levels.

“His programme for Edington Arts is mostly, but not exclusively, French: Couperin, Debussy, Rameau and Ravel, interspersed with Haydn and Schumann/Liszt.  This will make for a lovely concert of delicate and summery music.”

Full programme details are on the Edington Arts website, and you can secure your tickets, still at 2014 prices, by calling Chrissy on 01380 831256 or emailing sue@edingtonarts.org; £20/15/10, and 18 and under come free.
