Three teenagers have been arrested after police chased a stolen van through Wiltshire in the early hours.

Officers in Corsham spotted a vehicle which they believed had cloned registration plates travelling on the A4 towards Box shortly after 3am on Friday morning.

The van had been stolen from the Avon and Somerset area and was later stopped by police near Westwells Road.

Three people in their late teens got out and were soon arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle before being taken into custody.

Det Sgt Ted Roe from Wiltshire Police's Burglary Team said: “These arrests came about as a result of some excellent proactive work by our neigbourhood officers and some great teamwork by our roads policing unit and armed response officers who worked together to successfully and safely stop the vehicle and arrest the three suspects.”
