A man was left needing hospital treatment after being knocked out in an early-morning assault.

A month after the incident took place, Wiltshire Police has now issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

At around 1.30am on Sunday, March 3, in Market Place, Devizes,  a man in his 20s was approached by two men before he was punched in the face, knocking him unconscious.

The victim required hospital treatment.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "The suspects are described as two white men, one who was tall and thin with buzz cut dark hair, stubble and dark clothing. The other was wearing a blue hoody with white writing on the front.

"We acknowledge this happened some time ago but if you saw this incident or have any information that could help with our enquiries, please contact us on 101, quoting crime reference number 54240025051

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

This comes as Wiltshire Police is currently undergoing a campaign to encourage people to just walk away, spurred on by the death of Freddie Fontete-Jones, who died after being punched while on a night out in Salisbury in February 2022.
