LITTLE Felicity Lea is terrified of travelling on the bus after being showered in glass by the latest incident of vandalism against the town’s public transport.

Three-year-old Felicity was travelling into town with her mum last Friday when the vandal started shouting abuse at a group of Churchfields School pupils.

The enraged man then stormed off the bus, smashing his fist through the glass, covering Felicity with shards.

Felicity’s mum Sally, of Walcot, said her daughter is so traumatised by the incident she is terrified of travelling on a bus again.

“He was on the bus,” said Sally.

“Then the Churchfields lot got on and he was saying some terrible things I don’t want to repeat. He was shouting and swearing at the kids.

“He was just going off at them for no apparent reason.

“Then he got off at the town hall and put the window through.

“It was as the bus was driving away, he hit the glass and Felicity was covered in glass.

“Flic was sat right next to the window, so I couldn’t protect her from the glass.

“She screamed. She was absolutely terrified. She was screaming and couldn’t stop crying because it was so loud.

“I have tried to take her on a bus since, but she’s really scared.

“If we have to go on a bus then she won’t sit anywhere near a window. She’ll be looking around for a horrible man. She’s been having nightmares and she’s hardly sleeping at night.”

Sally also thanked the students who helped care for Felicity after the random attack.

“The Churchfields kids were so good and so helpful,” Sally said. “They were holding my daughter to reassure her and getting the glass off her. “ Thamesdown managing director Paul Jenkins said: “We continue to notify every single incident to the police.

“We have actually had 32 since Christmas that brings us up to about the same level as we had last year, so sadly there’s not been much change in things.

“We did see a peak in incidents during the half-term holiday.

“We continue to work with the police to try and identify the culprits and ask anyone with any information to let the police know so that they can continue their inquiries.”

Anyone with any information about the is incident or any other cases of criminal damage to buses should contact Swindon police on 0845 408 7000.
