Bookworms will get the chance to join Swindon’s Libraries even earlier under a new initiative.
From next Monday readers from the age of 12 can join up as long as they have their own CitizenCard.
Anish Harrison, Youth Librarian for Swindon Libraries, said: “I noticed a real need to improve joining procedures for young people, especially for those who are older and are no longer accompanied to the library by their parents.
“I canvassed the opinion of young people about making such procedures easier, it was suggested that the CitizenCard could be used as a form of ID.”
