TREVOR Rawlings reckons his Corsham Town side’s new-found resolve is behind their recent good form.

Corsham stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches by claiming the derby spoils at local rivals Bradford Town on Wednesday night.

Dan King put Rawlings’ men ahead before Matt Cooper levelled the scores for Paul Shanley’s Bradford on the stroke of half-time.

But Kane Kauppinen restored Corsham’s lead minutes into the second period.

“In the past, whenever we’ve conceded a goal, even if we were still winning, we looked as if we’d go on and lose the game,” said Rawlings.

“Bradford scored just before half-time but we didn’t come out for the second half with our heads down.

“We’ve managed to make it so that we’ve got a good squad of 14 or 15 players every week while in the past, we’ve been struggling to just get 11 out there – we haven’t had the bench to be able to change games.

“We’re going really well at the moment and I think that our resolve and self-belief is what’s helping us.”

Bradford manager Shanley thought that his team selection was to blame for his side’s defeat.

He said: “We’ve been scoring goals for fun with an attacking formation and I think we paid Corsham too much respect.

“We went a bit more defensive because we were worried about being opened up and that was my fault.

“I can’t blame the players though and I still thought we deserved something from the game.”

Last Saturday, Ben Moore and Ross Lye scored, with Jamie Moss getting sent off, as Corsham drew 2-2 at Sherborne Town.

Bradford hit the goal trail with a 6-0 demolition of Welton Rovers.

Sam Jordan netted twice while Adam Heath, Liam Milburn, Matt Minnis and Nick Ridout all scored.
