Rumour has it that the music of Fleetwood Mac can be heard in Swindon this spring.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, are again on the road for a European tour. They will be stopping off in Swindon in March, with their new show.

They have been paying homage to their heroes for the last 14 years, honing the sound and look to satisfy even the most discerning Mac fans, including Mick Fleetwood himself, who said of their show that it was: "An extraordinary emotive performance.''

Rumours were also honoured by an appearance in their ranks of Fleetwood Mac's guitarist Rick Vito, who guested on the new production.

Louise Rogan, who plays lead singer Stevie Nicks in Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, says the most difficult part of being in the band is choosing which songs are to be part of the show.

She said: "We argue and agonise over the set and this time we have some new numbers, and we have resurrected one of two from the archives. It amazes me how the songs still capture my imagination and keep bringing new meaning to my life.''

Alongside Louise in the line-up are Alan Hughes as Lindsey Buckingham on lead guitar and vocals, Amanda Kostadinov as Christine McVie on keyboards and lead vocals, Dave Goldberg as Peter Green on keyboards, guitars and vocals, Ben Hughes as Danny Kirwin on keyboards and vocals, James Harrison as John McVie on bass and Paul Walsham on percussion.

It was drummer Alan Cosgrove, who plays the mighty Mick Fleetwood, that promoted the first gig, rehearsing in a little village hall, one snowy evening.

He said: "Who would have thought we'd still be rocking out their music? I really have to pinch myself some nights as I count in the classic hits of Fleetwood Mac and lose myself in a lifetime of memories.''

James has played with a series of named artists such as Ruby Turner, Georgie Fame, Dr Feelgood, The Blockheads, Solomon Burke but he has a deep passion for performing the music of Fleetwood Mac.

He said: "John McVie has mapped it all out for me and it’s been such a great musical journey getting to grips with it.''

Ben has also had his clashes with the great and the good, especially when he jammed with Paul McCartney.

"I was selected from a song-writing group to have a short, personal meeting with Sir Paul McCartney, and he decided our ten-minute chinwag should become an hour-long jam session,'' he said. "I've pinched myself ever since.''

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac will be performing the new show, including classic hits such as Back Magic Woman, Albatross, Go Your Own Way and Everywhere, in Swindon's Wyvern Theatre on Sunday, March 13 from 7.30pm. Tickets are £23.50 from 01793 524481. - Flicky Harrison
