Wayne Young, better known as Demolition Man, will be performing at this year's Reggae Garden.

The reggae prince will be singing in the Town Gardens Bowl in Old Town on Saturday, September 10.

Demo is a singer, songwriter, engineer and producer, who was born in Hackney, but fell in love with reggae when he visited Jamaica as a child. His first musical outings were with In Ting Hi Fi and then Justice Sound. He spent time in America in 1993 when he toured with Bounty Killer, Lady Patra, Roundhead and Ninjakid.

His first brush with fame came with a track called Fire that he collaborated on with producer Terry T. It charted at number 33 in the National charts.

The musician turned to the Ras Tarfari way of living when he met Ras Solo who was teaching him production skills, in 1994. His first love has always been music and he aims to use his talent to break down barriers through the songs.

Demo said: Music truly gives the opportunity to spread positive messages and can break down barriers and diminute negativity. Demolition Man is here to demolish all evil things. I try to sing tunes that can teach the youth and show them a better way.''

The group Dem Lott was formed in 2001. Demo orchestrated the production of their first track, the aptly named, Dem Lott's Here Now. Travelling, performing and recording became his life and he also became a teacher himself. Demo taught music production to students at the Theatre Royal in Stratford East helping them towards their GCSEs.

He starred in the hip hop musical Da Boyz.

He will be bringing his positive approach to life to Swindon this weekend, joining a line up of Michael Prophet, Brother Culture and The Upper Cut Band, Friendly Fire Band, Urban Lions, Terrorist Nuclear and host for the evening is the town's own respected MC Zeeks.

The reggae garden is a family friendly festival with Reggae Rangers putting on children's activities and the Moshan Grill will provide a wide selection of Caribbean cuisine.
