SHRIVENHAM will start life as a Hellenic League Premier Division club on home turf and will face Reading City at Barrington Park in their season opener on Saturday, August 4.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town and Fairford Town also begin the new Premier Division campaign at home after the league’s initial fixtures were announced by clubs today.

Full schedules are still being worked out by the league’s fixture co-ordinator, with the reason for the delay being issues with shared facilities.

Bassett host Tuffley Rovers in their opener, while Fairford Town welcome Wantage Town to Cinder Lane.

The two then meet in a local derby in the opening week of the season, with the clubs going head to head at Bassett’s Gerard Buxton Sports Ground on Tuesday, August 7.

Shrivvy, who were promoted as champions of Division One West last season, also have a Tuesday night tie in the opening week, travelling to Windsor.

Shrivenham have no fixture on the second weekend of the season due to the staging of the FA Cup extra preliminary round, but Bassett and Fairford begin their cup quests against opposition from the South Midlands League.

Bassett go to Leighton Town, while Fairford are at home to Hadley.
