ONE TO WATCH

ON-LOAN ace Liam Mandeville has wasted little time at the Globe Stadium with two goals to his name this term.

The forward, who signed a season-long deal from Doncaster Rovers, is expected to play on the right of Morecambe’s midfield as they look to bounce back from Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy loss to Carlisle United.

The 21-year-old had a busy year last year as he featured in both League One and League Two with Doncaster and Colchester United respectively.

At his parent club he played a total of 24 times, notching four times, while he was slightly less successful with the U’s after failing to register during his loan stint.

So far Mandeville has failed to score at home.

KEY BATTLE: Martin Smith v Carlos Mendes

WITH five in midfield for Morecambe, Swindon’s Martin Smith could have his work cut out if he is to establish some level of authority in the middle of the park.

Last time out against MK Dons, Smith looked good in the opening 45 minutes, but faded in the second half after failing to keep up his initial work rate.

Mendes is more of a forward-thinking midfielder and came through the academy set up at Spanish giants Atletico Madrid before moving to Manchester.

Smith will have to be at his best to snuff out any danger presented by the midfield man.
