PEOPLE with an interest in local theatre in Swindon and Wiltshire have the chance to shape its future today.

A day of discussion and debate hosted by TheatreWorks is being held at the University of Bath in Swindon in Marlowe Avenue from 10am to 3.30pm.

TheatreWorks is a partnership of theatre organisations across the county which brings performing arts into the community for young people.

The event at the Oakfield campus will bring together more than 100 people from all sectors of theatre to help set the agenda for the next phase of theatre development in the area.

Deryck Newland, TheatreWorks director, pictured, said: "Who Says Theatre Works is about consulting with all stakeholders to ensure the next phase of theatre development in Wiltshire and Swindon is owned by the grass roots theatre makers and workers.

"It is an opportunity to speak your mind, have your say and be an active part of strategy making rather than a passive recipient."
