TV PRESENTER Tony Robinson will be the special guest at a conference to discuss caring for vulnerable adults in Swindon.

The host of Time Team, took part in a documentary last year about his mum Phyllis who suffered from dementia as part of Channel 4's The Trouble With Old People season.

His experiences will form the basis of the speech. The day will also include contributions from Superintendent Paul Williams, of Wiltshire Police, Graham Pearson, the council's director of adult social care, and Jo Osorio, director of Age Concern Swindon.

The conference, on February 1, at the Oakfield Campus, University of Bath in Swindon, in Marlowe Avenue, will include a series of workshops around safeguarding vulnerable adults.

A number of trade stands will be on hand to offer information on training and resources.

Tickets for the event, organised by the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce, cost £20.
