CALNE Town ended a run of three successive Toolstation League First Division defeats as they claimed an excellent 3-1 win at Cheddar.

The Lilywhites seized the lead just before the quarter-hour mark when James Darbyshire chipped home.

The lead was doubled seven minutes into the second half when Glenn Armstrong was felled in the penalty area and picked himself to score from the spot.

Armstrong added a second minutes later after being set up by Tom Slater.

Calne had substitute Jamie Lloyd Davies sent off and conceded a consolation goal, but it wasn't enough to stop Town from taking the points.

Goals from James Billing, Joe Morgan and Dave Stone condemned Devizes Town to a 3-0 defeat at second-placed Shepton Mallet.

Shane Blackmore's goal earned Chippenham Park a 1-1 draw at Chard Town, while Corsham Town also picked up a point from a goalless draw at Almondsbury UWE.

Melksham Town warmed up for Tuesday's Wiltshire Senior Cup semi final against Purton with a 1-1 draw at Longwell Green Sports, Ben Thomson on target for Darren Perrin's men.

Pewsey Vale ended their poor run in Sydenhams League Division One as they grabbed a point at Hythe & Dibden.

Seun Olabiyi put the hosts ahead when he forced the ball home from a corner, but Vale turned the game on its head as captain Ricky Franklin and Mark Field both netted.

Olabiyi's second earned the hosts a point.

Two goals from Levi Cox helped Wootton Bassett Town progress from the third round of the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup with a 3-1 vicory over Penn & Tylers Green.

Lee Stevens also netted for Jeff Roberts' men as Aaron Morten pulled one back.

In Division One West, Malmesbury Victoria picked up a home point as they drew 1-1 with Swindon's New College.

Matt Coote was on target for the Vics, with David Kinuthia responding.
