CONOR Taylor reminded the rest of the OCA One 1 just what he is capable of as he smashed 163 to help Shrivenham beat Hook Norton by 102 runs, writes James Harris.
The all-rounder’s knock came from just 104 balls, including 10 fours and 12 sixes as he single-handedly took the game away from their opponents.
Led by Tom Swann, who claimed 5-29, Shrivenham then proceeded to dominate with the ball as they dismissed Hook Norton for just 176.
Taylor, who hit 131 in similarly quick fashion when these sides met last season, was elated with the innings.
He said “I’ve struggled for runs so far this season, so for Saturday to go as well as it did, I’m obviously over the moon.
“I got some against them last season and when Bowlesy gave us the chance to set a total after the toss, it was the ideal opportunity for me to score big. Thankfully I did that.”
Skipper Alex Bowles breathed a sigh of relief after the game in the knowledge that his side had answered his early season fears.
He added: “Though Conor’s knock was exceptional, I also thought Tom Swann bowled superbly in what was his first game for the ones this year. He truly deserved the five wickets.”
