Dan Sloan is set to leave Devizes Town but managers Shaun Moffat and Kevin Whitbread have already moved for a replacement.

The striker looks likely to sign for Mel Gingell's Corsham Town as the Southbank boss looks for a replacement for James Lye, who rejoined Calne in the summer.

Gingell managed Sloan, who has scored once this season, during his time with the Wiltshire U18 and made a seven day approach last week.

But Moffat and Whitbread have both said Sloan's departure will not have an adverse affect on their side.

"We had already acted on Dan potentially leaving and have another striker coming in tonight," said Moffat.

"This player is very, very fast and knows where the net is."

Moffat added: "He came to training on Tuesday and he liked what we were doing and we like what he was doing.

"We have got a good first team squad and we watched the reserves the other night and we have got a few who are ready to come through from there."

Joint boss Whitbread agreed as he feels Sloan is replaceable and they already have Adam Giles and Jamie Mullings forming a good partnership up front.

"He knows how we feel about him but if he goes he goes," he said.

"We are not going to beg any players to stay if they want to go and if he does we will wish him all the best.

"I wouldn't say it was a blow because as one door shuts another one opens for someone else."

Corsham boss Gingell though is delighted about his potential capture of Sloan and feels he will add a new dimension to his side.

"Dan is one of the best around, I had him with the Wiltshire U18 and I rate him really highly," he said.

"He has made it clear he wanted to come and hopefully we can have him here by the weekend."
