SWINDON Town boss Danny Wilson thinks his side will demand respect from promotion-chasers Southampton when the two meet at St. Mary’s this weekend.

The Robins have come out on top in their last four clashes with Nigel Adkin’s side, with the Saints failing to find net in all of those encounters.

When the two sides met in September, Charlie Austin’s strike secured a 1-0 win for Wilson’s men at the County Ground, and the Swindon manager is looking to preserve an impressive record over their south coast opponents.

“The one thing is that we’ll get a bit of respect from Southampton’s point of view,” said Wilson.

“Going down there hasn’t fazed us and it’s given us a big game to look forward to.

“We’ve rose to the occasion (when we’ve gone there) so why not again? - psychologically, they’ll know they’re in for a tough game and that can only be good from our point of view.

“It just works out sometimes that a team gets certain results over a certain club every season, for whatever reason, but you don’t take that for granted.

“They’ll be very determined - they’re in a good position in the league now and their home form will be very important to them.”

Emergency loan signing Mike Grella goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s clash but fellow striker Elliot Benyon is set to miss the trip through injury and illness.

Thomas Dossevi is back in training but faces a late fitness test to make the squad for Southampton.
