THERE was mixed success for our local throwers at the BDO British Teenage Finals, which were held in Kettering recently.
PDC Youth Tour ace Chris Aubrey crashed out in the first round, losing 3-1 to Kent’s Sam Fuller.
However, 16-year-old Jack Tweddell progressed after whitewashing Daniel Cooper 3-0 (Cambridgeshire).
He made the last 16 by edging out Arwyn Morris (Montgomery & Radnorshire 3-2), but then lost 3-0 to Kurt Parry of Glamorgan, who was subsequently defeated in the final.
The Inter-County Youth KO Cup was played that same weekend and Wiltshire A beat Suffolk 5-2 in the opening round, before losing 5-2 to Gloucestershire A.
Wiltshire B put away West Midlands A 4-3 before succumbing 5-2 to Bedfordshire in the last 16.
In the BDO British Classic at the weekend, Tweddell and fellow local throwers Johnny Haines and Mark Cox all lost at the second round stage.
