FROME Town boss Adrian Foster doesn’t see any reason why his troops can’t finish the season by winning every one of their five remaining matches.

The Robins have four matches in the Calor League Premier Division to contend with before they take on Taunton Town in the final of the Somerset Premier Cup, which will be held at Paulton Rovers’ Athletic Field ground on Tuesday April 29.

Frome claimed a comfortable 4-0 win at already-relegated Bashley last weekend and make the long trip to play-off chasers Cambridge City tomorrow in confident mood.

“We’ve got five games left and the target is to win them all to try and finish in the top ten in the league and win the cup too,” said Badgers Hill chief Foster.

“We’ve got some tough games left, especially against Cambridge, Bideford and St Albans, but we’re thinking about nothing but winning.”

Foster was delighted to see his side avoid a potential banana skin in the New Forest last weekend, with two goals either side of half-time helping Frome cruise to three points.

Rhys Baggridge pounced to put the Robins ahead with 20 minutes on the clock before Ben Thomson headed home from a Jon Vance corner eight minutes later.

With eleven minutes remaining, full-back Mark Cooper raced forward to fire home the visitors’ fourth of the afternoon before Kris Miller fired home from the penalty spot after substitute Jamal Branker was brought down in the box.

Foster said: “We lost 2-1 at home to Bashley (in January) and that bad result was probably the turning point for us.

“They’d already been relegated but they’ve picked up a few points and I didn’t want us to slip up, so I fired the boys up before the game so – we played well and could have scored more.”

Midfielder Matt Smith and defender Tim Stephenson are missing for tomorrow’s trip to Cambridge.
