WINSLEY skipper Charlie Holton smashed an unbeaten 132 as Devizes fell short chasing a rain-reduced total.
The opener scored more than half of his side’s 216-9, but Devizes’reply appeared to be in good nick as openers Paul Stobbart and James Langan had useful knocks of 33 and 40 respectively.
But the remainder of the batting line-up failed to build on the early potential as Winsley’s Peter Orchard (4-39) and Andrew Swinburne (2-35) made inroads.
Winsley player Neil Harris believes promotion is still a possibility.
“The league may be shuffling the divisions around at the end of the season so second place might be good enough to go up.
“We know what we have to do now which is to win our three remaining games and hope Goatacre lose one.”
